Phil’s Elam’s “The Electric Glide” is bursting with excitement!

When Phil Elam received the news that he had been offered a role in an upcoming feature film he was buzzing with uncontrolled exhilaration, who wouldn’t… right? Excitement bubbling out of him he wrote “The Electric Glide”.

As I listen to this song I can easily hear the excitement bursting out, it is filled with feel-good, carefree energy, and I am swept up by this contagious enthusiasm.

The song combines different styles of 80’s sounds, blended with more modern Hip-Hop, and splashes of EDM for that unique and impressive soundscape, which seems to be a key force in Elam’s music.

With high-energy and groovy vibes, listeners will be drawn to the dance floor to join in Elam’s joyous celebration!

Music influences us in so many different ways and Elam is applying his art to create positive change within the society through his charitbale work.

After the success of two hit singles “Love is Louder” and “With You All the Way”, he kindly donated the songs profits to “The Tree of Life Synagogue” in Pittsburg, after a tragic shooting, and to “Forgotten Harvest” as food relief aid for those affected by COVID-19.

This sort of generous action is much needed within our society, and it is Elam’s hope to help move our communities forward in a united, positive manner.

If you enjoy music from artists such as Drake and Justin Bieber then Phil Elam will fit perfectly on your playlist.

A tale of fighting evil with evil, “dEvil” by Halo Boy

Halo Boy has described himself as the new anti-hero, a puppet at the end of the devil’s strings, obsessively crafting music and visual arts in his world of anime and cyberpunk dystopia.

His most recent release, “dEvil” tells a story of fighting evil with evil, an all too common tale of one’s peers acting out unfairly, and thus, the victim becomes the victor, when he has the devil on his side.

As the song opens we are introduced to an eerie and unique soundscape, with impressive bass guitar riffs and intense subwoofer vibration, I am immediately captivated and intrigued.

I enjoy the plethora of musical layers and the high’s and low’s of vocal intensity throughout the track. Halo Boy draws you in, enticing you like the devil as he whispers in your ear “I just got horns like the devil”, just to rip your sensitivity apart with emotive screams.

This young artist’s performance is hypnotic and fascinating, he has an intriguing musical flare, and if you enjoy music from artists such as Marilyn Manson and Bring Me The Horizon then Halo Boy will fit perfectly on your playlist.

Paulina Vo’s captivating “Whisper Games”

Listening to Paulina Vo, I am swept away by her hypnotic, enchanting performance.
“Whisper Games” was written to assist in Vo’s healing process after suffering from severe trauma.

She has created an emotionally provoking ambient soundscape, with seductive breathy vocals and delayed guitar, which conveys to the listener Vo’s journey through her healing process, and experience of refinding one’s strength after such devastation.

Vo had a bi-cultural and bi-coastal upbringing. Her parents were Vietnamese/American immigrants and her family moved from state to state before settling in Brooklyn.

This wonderful blend of influences impacted greatly on her music development and molded her sound into a cross-genre blend of intriguing harmonies.

I am captivated by Paulina Vo’s “Whisper Games” and if you enjoy artists such as Lianne La Havas and HAIM then Paulina Vo will fit perfectly on your playlist.

An intense and moving music video by Chima Anya, “There’s Nothing Wrong With Me”

I believe many people will connect with the message in this song, “There’s Nothing Wrong With Me” by Chima Anya.

On the exterior our lives may appear successful and happy, however, even when we have all that culture deems satisfactory for a joyful life, there can still be an atmosphere of despair, of being misplaced, a heaviness in our hearts that cannot be explained.

I was touched and impressed by Chima Anya’s music video, “There’s Nothing Wrong With Me”.

Melancholy piano music plays as Anya appears on the screen gazing vacantly into the mirror. This image generated an intense despondent feeling within me. Powerful and moving.

Whilst the song evolves Anya’s word-play grows more heated and volatile, conveying the despair and confusion that he endures. This burst of intensity in the song is accompanied by unstable driving around the roads of London, which heightens the ferocity.

A beautifully, emotive, melancholy song. If you enjoy music from artists such as J.Cole and Logic, then Chima Anya is definitely for you.

Paul Myers brings new life to “Live and Let Die”

Myers has brought new life to this traditional hit song, “Live and Let Die”, and I adore his refreshed version, which draws on the more rugged parts of the song.

Myers uses his epic, powerful guitar riffs, and raspy vocals to enhance the rocky side of this song. Notice the gentle reggae vibe on the second verse, which is extremely unusual, but praises the energy of this song beautifully.

Myers performs with such powerful emotion and intensity that it’s impossible not to appreciate his talent. If you’re a lover of The Beatles and Paul McCartney you will adore Paul Myers, I certainly do!

“Live and Let Die” was first recorded in October 1972, by Wings, a British-American rock band. Re-recorded by Paul Myers in June 2015. Myers has a unique knack for reproducing music from The Beatles and Paul McCartney and making them his own, while staying true to the initial ideology of the song.
